GRAHAM LINEHAN’S HIGHLY anticipated new comedy The Walshes premiered last night on RTE One.
Based on a web series by Irish comedy troupe Diet of Worms, it tells the story of a family from the fictional Dublin suburb of Strollinstown.
With the might of Father Ted writer Linehan behind it, The Walshes had the weight of expectation on its shoulders – and the reaction has been cleaved neatly down the middle.
Some are just flat out not impressed:
Meanwhile others insist that it’s too early to judge the show, calling it an Irish version of BBC’s beloved comedy The Royle Family:
